Payment FAQs

We accept debit and credit cards issued by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, prepaid debit and credit cards, and Murdoch's gift cards as payment.

For prepaid debit or credit cards, you will need to have your billing address registered with that specific card vendor.

Currently, we do not accept Paypal as an option for payment.

Layaways require 20% down and are only valid for 60 days, at which time a 10% restocking fee will be applied.  (10% of the total value) *If the customer does not pass all required checks (which are conducted with the National Instant Criminal Background check System, NICS, or appropriate State Agency),  and cannot receive the firearm the customer will be charge a 10% restocking fee.  (10% of the total value) If the remaining amount of the deposit after all fees is more than $200 a check will be mailed to the customer.

Yes, customers that shop at our Murdoch’s retail locations have additional financing options. For details about these options, please visit our Financing Page.

At this time, we can only accept credit cards issued by a U.S. bank on Murdochs.com. International customers are welcome to shop our retail store locations and use their country issued credit cards to make purchases.

Charges:

Upon submitting an order on Murdochs.com for shipment, your credit card will be charged when your items ship. If your order contains more than one item, and they are shipped in different packages, your statement may reflect individual charges for each shipment. You will not be charged more than the order total.

Upon submitting an order on Murdochs.com for pick up, your credit card will be charged when your items are picked up.

Authorizations:

Upon submitting an order on Murdochs.com you may notice a pre-authorization hold or pending charge in the total order amount. This is a standard practice to verify the card being used is valid and/or ensure funds are available for order processing. Your card will not be charged until your items ship or are picked up. Once items are shipped or picked up, the holds are removed, and the actual charges will post to your credit or debit card. If your order is cancelled or partially cancelled, the initial authorization will expire after a period of time and no longer show on your account. Pending authorization holds may take several days to be released. The financial institutions determine the length of the hold.

Upon submitting an order on Murdochs.com for shipment, your gift card will have the funds deducted as soon as you submit your online order.

If your order is cancelled or partially cancelled, you will receive an eGift card in the amount of that cancellation. This eGift card will be emailed to the email address used on that order.
