Are there any exceptions to using Credova?
There are no purchasing exceptions to using Credova, it can be used on any product we sell.
Does using Credova really not affect my credit score?
Getting pre-approved for credit with Credova does not affect your credit score. Using Credova’s service by getting a card number and paying for merchandise, or failing to pay Credova on time may affect it.
Is there a min amount that I need to spend or is there max amount available?
There is no minimum and each approval will clearly specify the maximum amount.
If someone is using Credova to purchase a firearm or item requiring a 4473, do I apply for credit first, or should I do background check first?
You should apply for Credova services first to ensure you can provide valid payment before proceeding with the background check. Note that receiving a Delay on your background check may force you to reapply for Credova credit or request a new card number as your initial approval could be expired by the time a Delay clears.
What is the difference between the 30-day approval and the 12-hour expiration?
You can get approved to see how much you are able to borrow without generating a credit card number to use. This pre-approval process is valid for 30 days and any time during those 30 days you can request a card number. Once requested, the card is only valid for 12 hours. If it expires and you are still within the 30-day window, you can request a new card number.
Can we take a Credova card number over the phone for payment?
It is Murdoch’s policy to only take Credova payments in-person. No over-the-phone transactions are allowed.
Can I use it online?
Not at this time.
How do I return a product(s) purchased with Credova?
Simply come into a Murdoch's store and return the item as you normally would. We'll take care of the rest.
